From scholarship to service.
Alambika was founded in Montréal in 2011 by Jean-Sébastien Michel, then a young scholar specializing in how societies approach alcohol and other psychoactive substances.
His academic work, combined with a passion for hospitality, craftsmanship and beverage culture, led to a simple realization: Canada’s hospitality industry deserved better access to thoughtfully selected tools, glassware and specialty products, backed by knowledgeable service.
What began as a small specialty retailer quickly evolved into a trusted national supplier serving hospitality professionals from coast to coast. Over the years, we’ve expanded our offering to include professional glassware, cocktail ingredients, Japanese knives, coffee and tea equipment, custom manufacturing, corporate gifting and sourcing services — all while staying true to the same philosophy that started the company: provide exceptional products backed by exceptional service.
Today, Alambika proudly supports thousands of hospitality businesses across Canada through our retail stores, professional showrooms, distribution network and e-commerce platforms.
